Pucheros y Huevos Rancheros is another painting who name was determined with the help of my poetry collaborator, Anthony the Poet of San Antonio. In this piece, the girl crosses her arms and pouts over her breakfast plate with the most delicious eggs this artist has ever had. Trying to imagine what she might be pouting about, I recalled the never ending debate that has been raging for decades in the breakfast taco capital of the world. That being, red or green salsa? The battle is heralded by the salt and pepper shaker and she just wants to stay out of the politics and eat her breakfast. Wanting some spicy zip added to her breakfast without having to choose a side. After all, sometimes red is good, other times green sounds better. Funny enough there is a simlar dish that comes with both red and green salsa on the eggs…it’s called huevos divorciados. I probably should make a painting of that too.
